York Silver Dessert Spoon Hampston & Prince 1796 Substantial Gauge Silver

  • Silver Old English pattern dessert spoon by York silversmiths John Hampston and John Prince and hallmarked in York in 1796 with incuse duty mark. It is made of a very thick gauge silver and is of excellent quality.It bears an armorial to the terminal of the spoon's handle which is difficult to decipher. Excellent set of hallmarks.

    Condition: The spoon is in good antique condition with a lovely antique patina. It has not been over polished and has a lovely set of crisp clear hallmarks.

    The spoon weighs 61 grams and is 17.2 cms long.
