Victorian silver snuff box Hilliard & Thomason Birmingham 1853
Lovely early Victorian silver snuff box by Hilliard and Thomason hallmarked in Birmingham in 1852. The box is engraved with scrolling leaves and vines on all sides, top and bottom. The lid also has a central vacant cartouche. The inside of the box has been gilded.
The snuff box is in good antique condition commensurate with age and use. There is some wear to the gilding particularly to the base of the box. It has a good strong hinge. It measures 6.5 cms x 3.5 cms x 1.5 cms high.
