Silver Vesta or Match Safe by Wm Henry Sparrow Birmingham 1913

£75.00Price
  • A lovely vesta in good antique condition with a lovely patina decorated with engine turned parallel patterns on both sides and central circular cartouche. The cartouche is engraved with the words "Musical Drive 1915"

The vesta was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1913 and was made by William Henry Sparrow.

It has a side set ring to be attached to an Albert chain or chatelaine.

The vesta has a strong spring and opens with good tension and snaps shut. It has a really lovely sheen and patina commensurate with its age and normal usage. It has good clear hallmarks and makers mark on the lip of the closure and the sterling and date letter inside the lid. There are small surface marks but nothing detrimental. Please see photographs
