Lovely screw top silver pill box or possibly an oil or ointment jar with a superbly engineered screw thread. Made probably by Louis Simpson 1962.
Silver pill or ointment pot screw top London 1962
A quality sterling silver handmade silver box with screw off lid. High quality item with beautifully engineered thread. Probably made by Louis Simpson who specialised in small silver and ecclesiastical silver.
Size approximately 1 inch length, 1 inch in width approximately and 32 grams in weight. In lovely antique condition in line with its age and usage. It has a lovely patina and has not been over polished.
Probably a pill box but as the lid is a screw top it may be an ointment or oil container given the silversmiths speciality and the gilding on the interior.
