Stunning silver ciborium chalice with gilded interior c 1880 in Gothic revival design.

Silver Ciborium Chalice Gothic Revival c1880 Excellent Condition

  • A Silver Ciborium hand made in the gothic revival taste. Circa 1880-1890 with applied silver strap work to the bottom of the stem and cast detail at the knop. It sits nice and flat with no wobble. Gilding to the inside of the body of the Ciborium and to the lid. The top of the lid is surmounted by a quatrefoil interlinked cross design. It is apparently unmarked which is often the case with Ciborium but we have tested it and it is high grade silver at least 925.

The cup is certainly European possibly French.
