English sterling silver caddy spoon made in Sheffield in 1917.
Silver caddy spoon rat tail trefid shape 1917
- The spoon is an interesting design as it emulates the design of 17th - early 18th century silver spoons having a "rat tail" leading from the haft to the bowl to give added strength and the finial is trefid shaped.
The spoon has crisp clear hallmarks with the lion passant for English sterling silver, the crown for Sheffield, date letter for 1917. The makers mark H W Ltd is also very clear, indicated that the spoon was made by Henry Williamson Ltd.
The spoon will be packaged and posted free worldwide.
