    The box has swag decorations to all four sides and beautifully executed bust of a woman surrounded by swags and rope decoration to the lid. The lid is set with 6 turquoise and 6 garnets around the edge. The base is plain and bears the hallmarks for both Chester 1912 and for Germany where this box originates. Gilded interior.
    The box weighs 153 grams and measures 9.5cms wide by 7.5 front to back and is 3.5 cms deep.

    George Bedingham imported many silver items from Germany through the Chester assay office. Bedingham himself was London based and registered there as a silversmith from 1902.
