These are a superb example of hand wrought silver spoons by Coventry based woman silversmith Winifred King. The spoons are sold with their original Winifred King case.
The spoons are hand planished with clear planishing marks to the bowls with cast handles terminating in a squirrel sitting amongst leaves. They are hallmarked along the edge of the bowls.
Winifred King was a highly respected arts and crafts silversmith. Originally based in Coventry Winifred King worked with Mildred Murphy trading under the company name of W King & Co. They were registered at the Birmingham Assay Office from 1924 until 1939. Mainly women silversmiths were trained there and items from their workshops are known until the 1950s. HM Queen Mary was a patron.

Condition: In excellent antique condition commensurate with age and little or no usage. Crisp hallmarks. The box is also in good antique condition.
