Scottish Provincial Silver Castle Douglas Tablespoon
A quality Scottish sterling fiddle pattern silver table spoon by silversmith Adam Burgess bearing the Castle Douglas ruined castle mark, the Sterling Scottish Thistle mark, Glasgow town mark and the date mark for 1848. In addition it is marked AB for Adam Burgess. The makers marks is slightly rubbed but legible. In lovely condition with some normal tip wear and some surface scratches particularly towards the rear of the terminal consistent with age and use. A good solid spoon. The finial is engraved with the letter R in script.
