A very elegant pair of late Victorian silver mounted claret jugs hallmarked in Chester in 1899 with their original glass stoppers. The jugs are tall and slender with tall stoppers which mirror the slight swirling design of the jugs themselves.
The jugs are also embellished with an engraved vertical reeded pattern to the bottom half.
The silver mounts on both jugs are clearly hallmarked.

Condition: The glass and the silver are in good condition commensurate with age and light usage. Clear hallmarks on the mounts. No nibbles etc to the glass or stoppers. Some inclusions due to the hand blowing process. Some very light scratches to the base commensurate with age and light usage.
