Pair Miss Cranston's spoons by Ch Rennie Macintosh

  • Pair of silver plated spoons from Miss Cranston's tearooms. The spoons are 13 cms long and each weighs 17gms. Each has a trefoil finial and rounded bowls with the stem stamped Miss Cranston's. They are in good overall condition.

    At the end of 19th century, Glasgow was thriving with artistic innovation and in particular the Glasgow School artists and designers were to the fore. Miss Catherine Cranston was a keen supporter of many artists and designers and in particular championed the young designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh. These spoons are some of the many items designed by Mackintosh for Miss Cranston.
