Large Moorcroft Bougainvillea Vase
- A really impressive piece of hand painted Moorcroft. The vase is stunning with vivid colours, on an ivory ground. Designed by Walter Moorcroft in 1950 using pressed flowers from Jamaica. The ivory ground was only used until the early the 1960's.
The vase is large measuring 12 inches (30cms) high and 6 inches (15cms) across.
The vase is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, repairs or restorations. It has some crazing to the glaze which is common with Moorcroft pottery. This in no way detracts from the beauty or collectability of this piece.
Moorcroft Pottery was founded by William Moorcroft over 100 years ago and continues to this day. Moorcroft pottery is made from the finest Cornish earthenware clay and is hand decorated by artists in the Moorcroft studio. Because it is hand made no two pieces are exactly the same.
