  • A very impressive solid silver art deco tea set made in the odeonesque angular style so evocative of the Art Deco era. Made by Bartons of Bangalore this is a very good quality colonial silver tea set being made of a very thick heavy gauge sterling silver. The sucrier and milk jug are both gilded to the inside to protect the silver. Made circa 1930.


    Bartons of Bangalore still exist today. The company was founded in Bangalore by Thomas Barton, from England establishing ‘Barton’ on 1st January 1861 at South Parade, Mahatma Ghandi Road, Bangalore where it is still located today. Bartons are renowned for their very high quality pieces.

    Each piece marked Barton silver.

    Condition: In excellent condition with good hallmarks. The set appears to have loved and cared for all its life and appears to have seen very little use. Please see photographs.
