Georgian silver and coral rattle J Wilmore 1796
- This is a substantial silver rattle with a total of 9 silver bells. The rattle's body has a square profile with deep chasing and engraved patterns. The rattle is hallmarked around the base into which the coral sits.
Overall the rattle is in excellent condition for the year with crisp engraving, the coral is also in excellent original condition and the hallmarks although small are in good condition. There is some limited wear to the embossing.
The bells are of two distinct patterns; one on the top the other on the bottom row.
Overall the rattle is approximately 5 and a half inches long (14cms) and weighs 51 grams.
