French silver box with a red stone set in the opening thumb piece, in excellent condition bearing London import marks for 1905.

- It is of a very "white" coloured silver and is decorated with a light engine turned design. The box is of the highest quality and in good condition. The stone on the thumb piece is red with some orange tones and appears to be a garnet.

This is a substantial box weighing 196.8 gms or approximately 6.33 troy ounces. The box is 3.5 by 3.25 inches across.
It bears the rayed sun import mark which was used to marks 925 silver being imported into London between 1904 and 1906 and the date letter k for 1905. It is marked with the letters LD for Louis Dessoutter.
