A rare Emile Galle marquetry table, signed Galle in marquetry. Extremely beautiful with trees, leaves and flowers in a rural landscape, defined in a variety of different fruit and exotic woods.
The whole scene is enhanced by a beautifully crafted peacock butterfly.

Emile Galle signed marquetry table c1890

  • Made at the etablissement de Galle in France in the height of the Art Nouveau era we believe this table was made circa 1890-1900. The table has exquisite flowing lines and truly reflects the art nouveau designs seen in Galle's and Majorelle's furniture.

Famous for glass, Galle's workshops produced several beautiful art nouveau style tables, trays what-nots etc eg the famous dragon fly table.
