Early Ramsden & Carr Silver pepper pot 1900
- Late Victorian Arts & Crafts silver pepper of baluster form, with band of embossed Tudor Rose and Celtic strapwork decoration.
Around the belly of the pot is the raised inscription 'Young Laughter Makes The Old World Gay'. The pepper pot has a slip-in pierced cover and sits on a circular stepped foot. Hallmarked in London in 1900.
The pot is 9.2 cms high and approximately 66 grams. It has a lovely patina - not over polished. Clear hallmarks to base and lid.
Ramsden and Carr set up their workshop in 1898 and their partnership was dissolved in 1919. This is an early piece from their partnership.
