A good Charles II silver trefid spoon by Thomas Allen and hallmarked in London in 1679 with a plain rat tail. It has an oval bowl with a thick gauge silver handle with pin engraved initials S*H to the reverse of the terminal.
The hallmarks have some rubbing commensurate with age and are still legible - please see photograph.
The spoon measures 19 cms and weighs 53 grams.
