Art Nouveau French silver, ebony and rose quartz parasol handle c1915
A stunning French silver gilt and ebony parasol handle made by Fernand Salanier from the Aubervilliers part of Paris, made circa 1915-1920. The French hallmark for small silver items and also the makers mark are carried on the ferules, and also the three art nouveau or belle epoque ladies who encircle the top mounted rose quartz.
The three ladies are scantily clad and are mounted directly on the ebony which provides a lovely dark back drop to them. The rose quartz itself measures 2.5 cms across. It has natural marks and fissures normal to the stone. The handle is 21 cms long.
Condition: Good antique condition commensurate with age and light usage. The silver is in good condition. The hallmarks are tiny (normal for French hallmarks) but crisp and clear. The rose quartz cabochon has natural cracks and fissures normal to the stone.
