York Minster Antiques offers a comprehensive silversmithing service undertaking commissions for new pieces, a repair service for older silver and bespoke hand engraving on all precious metals. We also offer silversmithing lessons for those who want to explore this ancient craft. We also work with gold and jewellery. We take on new commissions for small and large pieces of silver, as examples we have made custom designed personal and gift items; decorative as well as functional, tea services, boxes, bowls, stirrup cups, cast animal models and jewellery to mention a small portion of our previous commissions. Wedding, birthday, anniversary and christening gifts are a speciality.

Let us know what you would like. We can draw up a design or work from yours, from a photograph or drawing. We work mainly in precious metals but other surfaces can be engraved if suitable. We offer a range of silversmithing courses from one day to 5 days. The course can be tailored to your needs, experience and interests. We cover basic silversmithing techniques, raising, soldering, piercing etc. We offer wedding ring making courses to couples who want to make a special and more personal wedding ring set.
